I’m a fan of the game, so I don’t care how much or how long I complain about Red Sox shortstop and resident error machine Julio Lugo. As I type this, Jed Lowrie is awakening from his long slumber to begin a day that will culminate in sitting next to backup catcher Kevin Cash on the bench to watch a less talented player get paid more to totally screw up every chance he gets. I mean, Lowrie has more RBIs in four at-bats (three) than Lugo has in his 59 at-bats (two). Does anyone else find this glaringly ridiculous? Oh, how could I forget? Lugo has also graced us with six errors this season.
Red Sox starting pitcher Clay Buchholz must learn to harness his offspeed stuff. His control was all over the board Wednesday night. Plus, every bomb he conceded was a result of a fastball down the middle. Clay! I’m not your pitching coach, but watch some film of yourself; you looked like a Little Leaguer frozen in time.
Boston relief pitcher Julian Tavarez conceded three earned runs in 1 1/3 innings to take the loss. Ouch!
Not much to say here, just a putrid performance by the Sox Wednesday night. I threwup in my mouth around the seventh-inning, then went to bed.
Thursday night’s game was awesome. Starting pitcher Josh Beckett was on point and Manny’s bat resembled “Wonderboy” for a while as he spanked two dingers to bring his career total to 495.
Slimeball Yankees manager Joe “I think I’m tough” Girardi ordered a brush back of Manny after his two dingers. Mind you, this was after Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury was hit twice by washed up has-been Mike Mussina.
Sox closer Jonathan Papelbon came in for ninth-inning mopup duties and allowed two runs. What the heck? However, they won and that’s all that counts.
Viva la Lowrie!

And how many World Series do the Red Sox have?

This is “Wicked Good Sports” buddy, not “Ey…yo over here” sports. Talk to us in October when the Yankees are playing out the string at the end of October, with no chance of making it in. Then you will spin it that “We have good young guys”, except so do we but we win and will be running away with the division.

Zero.
