The bottom line here is that Paul Pierce should undoubtedly be on the Eastern Conference All-Star team when the tip-off commences in
Currently, the 6-foot-6, 230-pound
To me, Pierce’s supreme value comes on the defensive side of the ball as of late. He has begun to do the little things that don’t show up in the Boston Herald’s box score every morning. He’s always in the right spot; he has begun to create havoc and has shown an intensity that has begun to seep through Pierce’s seams which has ignited a fire under the Celtics’ 27-3 spotlight.
Over Pierce’s last four contests, he has averaged 28.3 points, 6.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He has been crucial down the stretch and his ability to drive to the hoop with ease has proved to be a vital attribute as the final five minutes starts to tick off of the clock. You see, when you have a player like Ray Allen who can shoot the lights out, a player like Kevin Garnett who can post-up and knock down shots from 18-feet with ease and a player like Pierce who can pop out or take it to the hole in hopes of getting hacked, you have the ultimate mix of players that tend to win championships in a league like the National Basketball Association.
Currently, “K.G.” leads the NBA in All-Star votes and Pierce is teetering around the fourth position for Eastern Conference forwards. So, this is my call to all of the fans out there that bleed green like me. Get on the internet, go to NBA.com and cast every single vote you can to get Pierce what he deserves. Because frankly, I know the addition of Allen and Garnett have helped this team immensely, but without Pierce’s presence on the hardwood night in and night out, this basketball team would not be 27-3, they would not be as feared and they wouldn’t be as exciting.
This is Paul’s 10th season with the Celtics; he is a soldier and a dedicated man. Do him a favor; show your dedication and gratitude. Go out there and cast your vote
